Peugeot SA („Groupe PSA") und Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV („FCA") (NYSE: FCAU / MTA: FCA) machen einen wichtigen Schritt auf dem Weg zum Abschluss ihrer 50:50-Fusion gemäß dem am 18. Dezember 2019 angekündigten Kombinationsvertrag und geben heute bekannt, dass der Firmenname der neuen Gruppe  sein wird.

 geht auf das lateinische Verb „stello“ zurück, was „mit Sternen aufhellen“ bedeutet. Der Name ist inspiriert von der neuen und ehrgeizigen Gruppierung berühmter Automobilmarken und starker Unternehmenskulturen, die zusammen einen der neuen Marktführer in der nächsten Ära der Mobilität schaffen und gleichzeitig den außergewöhnlichen Wert ihrer Bestandteile bewahren.  wird die Größe eines wirklich globalen Unternehmens mit einer außergewöhnlichen Breite und Tiefe an Talenten, Know-how und Ressourcen verbinden, die in der Lage sind, die nachhaltigen Mobilitätslösungen für die kommenden Jahrzehnte bereitzustellen. Der lateinische Ursprung des Namens würdigt die reiche Geschichte seiner Gründungsunternehmen. Der Bezug zur Astronomie trägt dem Geist des Optimismus, der Energie und der Erneuerung Rechnung, der diese branchenverändernde Fusion antreibt.

Der Prozess zur Identifizierung des neuen Namens begann kurz nach Bekanntgabe des Kombinationsvertrags. Die Geschäftsleitung beider Unternehmen war durchgehend eng involviert. Unterstützt wurde der Prozess von der Publicis Group.

Der Name  wird ausschließlich auf Konzernebene als Unternehmensmarke verwendet. Der nächste Schritt in diesem Prozess wird die Enthüllung eines Logos sein, das mit dem Namen zur Corporate Brand Identity wird. Die Namen und Logos der Gründungsmarken der  Group bleiben unverändert.

Wie bereits erwähnt, wird der Abschluss des Zusammenschlusses voraussichtlich im ersten Quartal 2021 erfolgen – vorbehaltlich der üblichen Abschlussbedingungen, einschließlich der Genehmigung durch die Aktionäre beider Unternehmen auf ihren jeweiligen außerordentlichen Hauptversammlungen und der Erfüllung der kartellrechtlichen und sonstigen regulatorischen Anforderungen.
